How to play 501

Aim of the game

For 2 or more players. The objective of 501 (or 301) is to be the first player to reduce your score to exactly zero. 

How to play

  • Start at 501 (or 301 for a quicker match)
  • Players throw 3 darts each per round
  • Subtract player scores each round from running totals
  • Aim for higher numbers (e.g. 20) and try to hit trebles (inner ring) for 3 x value
     

Winning the Game

Final dart must hit a double - if player doesn’t reach zero by hitting a double, and their score goes below zero, they are bust and their score reverts to what it was at the start of that turn. They try again when it’s their next turn.
First player to finish on a double and reach exactly zero WINS!
